YCDFS is both proud and grateful for the broad community support provided to our program. Our students benefit from funding support from many sources.

Ongoing & Past Fundraisers:

• The York Foundation hosts the York City Dollars for Scholars Endowment as well as endowment funds created by several alumni classes (1934, 1941, 19M42, 1945, 1951, 1959).
• Local families have honored or memorialized loved ones through "named funds" with the York Foundation and have designated YCDFS as recipients of annual distributions towards scholarship assistance.
• School district employees donate through payroll deduction.
• PTO’s and school staffs donate special scholarship funds.
• Students contribute through the annual "Penny Brigade" (more than 2,000,000 pennies have been donated by sc                                                                                                                      hool students and their families).
• Proceeds from the annual Four Chaplains Prayer Breakfast provide scholarship aid annually to a student who attended Alexander Goode Elementary School.
  
• Individuals and businesses have made generous donations.
  
• Kathyrn Fourhman, John Zimmerman, Dr. Jack Van Newkirk, Arthur Glatfelter, Carolyn Steinhauser and Stephen Stetler have been the generous "victims" of roasts/toasts on behalf of YCDFS.
